    • PARLIAMENTARIANS FOR PEACE

bold political will at heart of the

      World Normandy Peace Forum

    • THE PURPOSE

Since 2017, the World Normandy Peace Forum brings in Caen front-running political leaders to sustain peace, mitigate conflicts, and engage the public in mediation efforts.

In 2020, the Open Diplomacy Institute brings new energy to the Normandy Region and adds another voice to the World Forum: the Parliamentarians for Peace (P4P).

The Parliamentarians for Peace compose a group of 10 Members of national Parliaments working jointly to design transnational legislative work addressing new threats to peace in the realms of:

      • Education and social policies
      • Environment protection and sustainable development
      • New technologies and innovation

On October 2nd, 2020, they presented their Peace Policy Platform at the World Normandy Peace Forum. They will therefore highlight bold political solutions to help resolving emerging political tensions and call international leaders to enhance their efforts for sustainable peace.

    • THE CO-FOUNDERS

      | The Normandy Region

The Normandy Region created the Normandy for Peace initiative in 2017. Normandy for Peace is a worldwide process to promote and construct peace, constituted of an extensive program of events throughout the year, as well as by the World Peace Forum, an echo to the 6th June 1944 landing. Its main goal is to build bridges, foster interaction between actors, and lead to solutions for sustainable peace. To this end, regional and international projects are set up, in Normandy and around the globe.

      | The Open Diplomacy Institute

In the 21st century, we all need, as citizens, to grasp a better understanding of the world. For about 10 years, this is the mission of the Open Diplomacy Institute: empowering citizens in the global policy conversation. Our programs help better information, active training, and direct participation for everyone to bring ideas to diplomatic arenas.
